This started as a facebook status update...but it got a little long.

We spend our lives striving for completion. Trying to be better. Working simply to fill our time with activity and our homes with comfort. We search for answers. We exert our whole selves trying to fill the empty places. Right down to the very electrons of our atomic make-up, we are looking for something to balance us...to stabilize. To satisfy. I'd like to propose to you that this uncomfortable position is characteristic of the human condition. As such, it is impossible for another human to solve this problem for you....they are fighting the same issues you are- how can they solve for you what they can't solve for themselves?
If you find that Valentines Day, being around people in love, or people who have things you don't highlights a sense of loneliness of dissatisfaction with your life, I'd suggest that you look to Jesus. His love completes, fills, heals, immerses, and delights over you. If you feel alone today, consider the isolation He felt when He suffered the most excruciating pain ever suffered. Consider that He went alone and suffered this separation so that He could be with you- so that YOU would never have to be alone. Consider how badly He wants your companionship and how precious He thinks you are. Consider that He is waiting for you to let Him pour His love over you. Consider letting Him take away the things that hurt and drag you down. Consider letting Him in. Just Consider it. Please?
